I, personally, had a great time reading "Social Studies." The fact that it's a title from when I was a child made it especially appealing, since I always wondered what "the big deal was" about Fran Lebowitz. The person I swapped this with was correct: A recent TV series spurred my renewed interest in learning more about Lebowitz's writing. Anyone who's watched or is watching it won't be surprised by what they read here--though they will find her earlier thoughts to be a bit more free-form or free-flowing. This set of essays is exactly what it sounds like: a group of musings and observances about society and how we function (or might) as humans sharing sometimes close quarters.

Witty commentaries on all kinds of subjects. The author is very funny and right on the money.
