I just signed up and am very excited.... I have a few questions..

What is a box o books service. I earned 2 credits for 9 books do I get more credits for entering more books or do I only get credit for books delievered?

How fast do the books usually come? I am a very fast reader and wondering if I am better off buying some credits.

Please add any info that I should know and probably not seeing. Thanks in advance!!!

Carrie,

Welcome. I think it would be a good idea to read the help center which is located at the top of the page. I believe you will find a lot of the answers in there.

Carrie - I would suggest you spend some time reading the help center.   I think most if not all of your questions will be answered there.        I will attemp to answer one or two.      The only time you are "given" credits is when you post your 9 books.   All other credits are either earned by someone receiving a book from you OR your buying credits.

The time for books to arrive vary greatly.   It all depends on the good on US Post office.

Again I URGE you to read the help section and then if you have any questions ask your tour guide.   If you don't know who your tour guide is I believe you can find them under your buddy list.

WELCOME TO PBS - it's a great place to find and send books!!!!!!!

After you post 9, you no longer get any credits for posting, but only from people who order from your bookshelf.

Welcome!

I agree, read the help center links.  We could all answer you, which we love to do, but if you have to read something (like our replies), you'd be better off reading the official rules, questions and answers.  If you don't get all your answers, please come back and ask away!  And come back anyway!  :>)

Prepared to become addicted to the site! hahhahaha Welcome to PBS and congratulations on finding the best book swapping site on the Internet! I just know you will have lots of fun!

Here's my tip, which many of us learned the hard way:

There's a forum called Book Bazaar.  It's fabulous!  Many member will offer deals - say, 3 books for 1 credit (and from your post, I think you will be using it a lot!).

Here's where ya gotta be careful.

If you are looking at someone's bookshelf to make your selection and you double click on the title to see what the book is about, do not then click on "order this book".  At that time you've left the member's bookshelf and are using the general book description, which means the order will be sent to the first person ready to go based on the FIFO system, who will be very confused when you contact them about the deal they never offered.  It usually means someone has to cancel the transaction and can sometimes mean some hurt feelings.

So - make sure you note the name of the person offering the deal.  After you read the book description, hit your back browser button.  Be sure you are on the deal person's bookshelf when you order the book.  Then you can PM with your freebies.

I hope this makes sense - if not, just post.  Welcome to PBS!

Welcome to PBS!

I also suggust reading the help center, as well as using your Tour guide, you should have recieved a PM when you signed up from a volunteer who is assigned to help you navigate the site and answer any questions you may have!

Welcome Carrie. Im a fast reader too, but I cannot keep up with all the cool books I now have and my TBR pile is huge. The help center doesn't tell that part either.

As a boxer, I find it a good way to try out an unread (by me) author without spending precious credit. A "box" can be as little as one book.
