Just wondered if there are any Sonlight users on PBS.  We are using Core 4, and have posted many of our past books from K-3 for others to enjoy.  Would like to know what Core you are using.  Hoping to pick up some books in the future. Thanks!

I have Sonlight Core 1 I think, we used it a couple of years ago with my older 3 kids and I'll use it again in another year or so for my youngest 2.  I really liked it, but I'm trying to find a balance between workbook related curriculum and my want to incorporate my love of reading.  I'm thinking in another year I may get Sonlight 4 or 5 and do that with my oldest 3 while doing 1 with my youngest 2.  I always look for books that I know are Sonlight recommended at thrift stores and garage sales and list those, but I don't list the ones that actually came with my curriculum.  I knew I'd be using them again someday :-)

This is our first year homeschooling with Sonlight. We are using Core C/K with our dd 5, Core 3 with our dd 8, and Core 100 with our ds 10.  We'll definately be putting up the Core C books at the end of the year as we don't have any immediate plans to have more kids.

We don't do Sonlight as written per say but I did use the catalog as a guide to set up my home library.  I have most of the k-5 books.  I love their book selections!  I am always looking here, at garage sales, and in thift stores for ones that I am missing to complete my cores!

I also always have Sonlight books on my shelf if anyone needs some!

We're Sonlighters! This is our first official year of hs-ing, and we're doing Core K (C) right now, with level 1 readers. So far it's going really well, so I think we'll be sticking with it. The only thing we're not thrilled with at this level is the I Can Read It series.  We abandoned it a couple weeks ago, and I found an entire box of little readers at a local thrift store- around 40 books!-  so we're using those now instead.

Brenda -

I just checked out your bookshelf, and you have lots of good stuff there! We're reading The 100 Dresses right now.

We do Sonlight too.  I have 4 kids, 4, 6, 8 and 10.  So this is my first year doing two programs, C- intro to World Cultures and 3-Intro to American History, Part I.  I am doing some things combined also, like lapbooking and nature study.  I keep my own set of the Sonlight titles...but of course I also buy up any I see for all of you!  I don't mind using older versions, so I pick those up too.  If I have a little nicer version, I give the older one away.   Usually, it is free with an order.  Or in the Homeschool Swap on the forum.

I have lots of Sonlight titles on my wishlist.  I get so excited when one comes available!  We love reading together.  Blessings, Carrie
