Place frozen hashbrowns in a large bowl to thaw out thoroughly - Do Not Cook! - Break up if frozen in clumps.
Cook hamburger meat - salt & pepper - thoroughly with no pink - drain off grease ( I use a collander)
Chop or dice 1 small onion.
When hashbrowns are thaw, add onion, mushroom soup, sour cream and hamburger meat (You can salt & pepper again if you prefer).
Mix all ingredients thoroughly - Will be very stiff! - (You can use your hands, like mixing dough!)
When all is mixed, place in a 9 x 13 baking pan, pat down evenly, sprinkle with Cheddar Cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
After baking 30 minutes, take out of oven, sprinkle Durkee's French Fried Onions evenly on top. Bake additional 15 minutes.
Take out of oven and serve piping hot or let cool, your preference!
You may also add frozen mixed veggies to this - use half the hashbrowns and let veggies and hashbrowns thaw together. Another substitute is venison (deer meat) for the hamburger - I alternate the two. Depends on your taste.
Enjoy!
