I rarely leave a book unfinished, but I put this one aside 100 pages in. The structure is just too confusing and the characters are not compelling to me. It started fairly well, glimpses into the life of a young woman punishing herself for an abortion, among other things. Then each chapter moved back chronologically, each focusing on a different family member. For me, I couldn't keep everyone and their convoluted feelings straight. And the only two characters I enjoyed were the first two: Margaret and Heather.
A family relationship piece with lots of twists and turns.
