I always look forward to BBC News Washington correspondent Jon Sopel's contributions to the BBC nightly news, especially in these days of the head-spinning, jaw-dropping, I can't believe what I'm hearing disruption of the old certainties. Sopel does a great job of enlightening British readers on some of the realities of life and attitudes in the USA, while at the same time giving American readers interesting insights into the way others see us.

The edition I read has been updated with a chapter on Trump's first year in office. But based on the headlines this morning, Jon -- I think you're gonna need a bigger book ....
