This book was not a favorite of mine. Although I love romantic suspense, I didn't care for the setting and the ho-hum heroine. The book centered around Gage, who has come to a small town in order to bodyguard a politician, and Kate, a small town waitress trying to save her sister from an abusive husband. I didn't connect with either hero or heroine and I felt the story was a bit all over the place.

It was a sweet story between the primary characters and the side story of abuse was handled well.
