I love dogs and I love Rick Bragg's writing, so this book seems like a natural choice for me. It's funny, of course, and heartfelt, no surprise there either.

Rick Bragg is a national treasure. There is not an unnecessary word in this slim book about a wild dog he rescues but never quite tames. The Speckled Beauty celebrates the animal-human relationship, family, and the South.
