Try as I might I really can't understand this book. David Lapham displays one of the strongest understandings of graphic storytelling in his own series "Stray Bullets" however, any time he takes on projects that are not entirely his own the results are baffling. I can find very little I like about this book. The illustration, color, and lettering have no faults but the uninspiring story makes it very difficult to enjoy on any level. The main character Crispus Allen and his supernatural counter part have no depth and no action. None of the other characters are interesting either. Lapham seems to think that violence and paper thin mystery are enough to carry a story. That being said Lapham amazed and intrigued me with every issue of "Stray Bullets".
