Excellent story mainly set in countryside near Cheshire, England. Spooky old buildings, ghosts with horrific pasts, and darkly premeditated modern murder. Some good plot twists and tying together of events and minor characters. I will be looking for more by this author, Sarah Rayne.

This kept me hooked from beginning to end. Recommended for those of you who like thrillers that bring past events into the present.
