This is a beautiful Christmas book with exquisite illustrations that my children and I love. The text is a verse that builds and repeats without getting old. Several of the illustrations are just stunning, and it makes the nativity come alive.
The only thing that may concern some is that it does use the word ass in the text, and it repeats several times. I think I just inserted the word donkey the first time I read it to my children, but the other word rhymes with the text. This year I read it unedited and the children were a bit startled, though only one of them realized it was a "bad" word. Hopefully others would not find it too much of a distraction from this beautiful book.
