Someone recommended the Robert B. Parker (Spenser series and also Joss Stone series). Can anyone recommend a good title to start with? I am a big fan of novels that make me laugh out loud (such as Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.) Thanks in advance for your input. Marianna |

The Spenser and Jesse Stone series are quick reads and interesting but not ,in my opinion, at all like the Stephanie Plum series. |

I love the dialog between Spenser and his girlfriend...very clever at times but not the humor of Evanovich. It's best to start at the beginning..I've read them all and most were good..but a couple were boring ( but I have forgotten their titles) |

Marianna, if you go to the official website, www.robertbparker.net, all his titles are listed, probably chronologically, and by series, whether it is Spenser, Jesse Stone, or the newer female detective whose name I forget. I love Parker...the dialogue is crisp and dryly humorous. Cindy |

Any Spenser novel is good to start with-I have no idea what the order is, but I don't think you really have to read them in order:) I'm partial to ones with lots of Hawk(of course, I couldn't remember a title to save my life). Have fun, I love Robert B. Parker!

Sunny Randall is the female detective series. (I have a few in my TBR pile.) And I just love the Jesse Stone series! And I agree with Arlene that they aren't like the Stephanie Plum series at all. But they are a quick read and I enjoyed them. |

fantasticfiction.com will give you the books in order. I love his earlier books but the last couple of years have only been so, so. |
