Steak and Shake Chili Mac

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs - ground beef (round used)
  • 2 tbsp - vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 can - canned french onion soup (Campbell's used)
  • 1 tbsp - chili powder (or more if you like it spicy)
  • 2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper
  • 1 can - kidney beans (or more if you like it with a lot of beans)
  • 1 6oz can - tomato paste
  • 1 8oz can - tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp - cocoa (Hershey's used)
  • 1 cup - cocacola
Directions

Brown beef in oil.  Add can of soup and let simmer for 5 minutes.  Add chili and cumin powders as well as the pepper.  Add drained kidney beans, tomato paste and tomatoe sauce.  Let simmer for 20 minutes.  Add cocoa and then cola.  Simmer until flavor desired is reached.  Serve on top of cooked elbow macaroni and with a big heap of shredded cheddar cheese on top!


Notes

I have never had Steak and Shake's chili mac - but this was super good tonight!

I think leftovers will be even better tomorrow for lunch :)
