Violet is back from the Colorado Territory and she and her husband are visiting her parents since her mother is ill. When one of the "peers" seems to have committed suicide, Queen Victoria enlists Violet's help in doing the funeral arrangements. Of course all is not as it seems and an investigation ensues involving Scotland yard and Violet herself. There are several surprising twists and turns but at the end, the case turns out much as I had suspected. All in all, an entertaining read and I will continue with this series.
