Beautifully written story - two part, this is part one. Wonderful descriptive prose - taking place in colonial sub-saharan Africa. Author was a white South African who loved his country, its people, and its wildlife. Five stars.

This is such an excellent book! Van Der Post really captures the essence of Africa and places you deep into Hunter's Drift. It is well written and well worth your time to read!
