If I remember right, Lynn Kurland had one with a plus sized heroine, but I can't recall the name of the book.

Have you read any Linda Howard Christy? Her story After the Night sounds right up your alley. Poor girl and her family get thrown out of the town by the wealthy family who kind of run things because the mother was having an affair with the wealthy father. The younger daughter has crush on the rich son and comes back to the town after she has made a good life for herself and the sparks really fly. It's a good, pretty intense( for Howard) story.

Hey Christy,

I posted a few book suggestions for you at the Diana Palmer board, but I'll repost them here.  And I saw that you mentioned another category here, too, that I have some suggestions for.

Books where girl falls for brother's friend -

Contemporaries - "Fire and Rain" by Elizabeth Lowell, "Seven-Year Seduction" by Heidi Betts (Sil. Desire)

Historical - "Simmer All Night" by Geralyn Dawson

Dating girl out of revenge or for information -

"In Too Deep" by Cherry Adair (part of a series, book 3)

"Tears of a Renegade" by Linda Howard

"Loving Evangeline" by Linda Howard (sequel to "Duncan's Bride")

I just started a Blaze title(the harlequns with the steamier scenes) and the woman is supposedly larger (or thinks she looks that way) and where I left off the guy she's making otu with in the elevator he recognizes her as his brother's girlfriend(thought they're having big time problems being 'just friends' so she's not 'taken' I don't think...)

I liked 'corset diaries'..larger woman. and loved meg cabot's heather wells mysteries though not much romance.-size 12 is not fat and size 14 is not fat either.

ETa: dating for information: the last of the mackenzie series by linda howard 'game of chance'...you read about this adopted brother in the other books but this is 'his' story when he gets himself stranded with the daughter ofa  terrorist his govt group is trying to catch and falls for her and vice versa.

Christy,

Bernie had  a thread about Plus size heroines in the BOOK BAZAAR forum titled BOOKS FOR OR ABOUT PLUS SIZE HEROINES and several are listed there. It is on the sixth page right now.

For the plus size category, also try Jude's Law by Lori Foster.

I think 'Too Much Temptation' is the one with Grace and Noah.

He loves lucy by donovan? is about a larger woman who does a slimdown challenge for $ and falls for her personal trainer. nice story.

corset diaries is about a larger woman

jemima j is a chick lit book with little romance though some who loses weight.

Corset Diaries is one of the all time funniest books I have ever read.  Had to put it down several times because I couldn't see through the tears  from laughing so hard.

You might want to try out Jennifer Crusie. none of her heroines are perfect.

Bet Me~She is struggling with her weight (Mostly her Mother's fault) There are quite a few bets in this one too.

Welcome to Temptation~ The heroine was torured by the "Rich kids" when she was in school. The hero is what see she's as a "Golden boy". I came away from this one in love with Phin and with a new Dove Bar addiction.

I would say that if you picked up any of her books it would not be a mistake.

I absolutely loved "The Thin Woman" by Dorothy Cannell.  It's the start of a series of mysteries (not romance, although the first book has a love interest):

Ellie like many women in her same situation wants to impress her family because they kind of give that attitude of I'm better than you because she's plump and single. Ellie decides her best bet is to have someone attractive and male on her arm when she visits them this time around. So she calls on Eligibility Escorts and enter one Bentley Haskell. He's a bit abrasive, but he fits the bill as far as being nice to look at and perfect to play the single girls long time beau. Bentley is a trained chef, but has taken up writing an ADULT/Graphic novel.
Once cornered with her family though Ellie makes Bentley not just her Beau but her fiancée in a very humorous moment. So as the weekend ends Ellie goes home with confidence she's gotten away with her lie and can go about her business.
Then her uncle dies and he gets one over on the family by stipulating that he is leaving Ellie and Bentley his entire fortune and castle home if they both accomplish two things in the next 6 months. Ellie's supposed to lose weight and make herself over. Bentley is supposed to write a full length book, but it has to be free of blasphemy which is going to be difficult because the book he's been writing will not do at all
.
