In brief:
I was very disappointed that so many of the plot threads of Alex Kava's last novel, "Fireproof", were left dangling at the end of that book. I was pleased that they were picked up and resolved in this book. Further, I thought that there were enough refer-backs so that it was not necessary to have read that book in order to enjoy this one.
SO ... it makes me wonder ... is it worth taking the time (and expense) to read Fireproof, or should one bypass it and just jump right into this book?
Rating: 4 stars.
