This was a really fun romance in space between a human female and an alien male. There's a lot for her to adapt to - language, food, bedding - but also a lot that remains the same - difficult family dynamics, the importance of friendship and teamwork, and how honest affection can inspire confidence. The human/alien intimacy parts were unexpected but I am going to continue to read the series.
