This is a collection of Ms. Pollitt's essays dating from 1994-2000. The essays themselves are well-written and thoughtful, however, reading them now, many of them are very dated. Naturally, you also tend to get an earful of Pollitt's own political views and ideology, which can get old. I can imagine being interested in this book in bits and pieces, but in it's entirety, taken all at once, it was like taking a bit too much medicine all at once. If you're going to read it, flip through to ones that interest you, or read it in doses.
