Brandy is heading home to Philly from LA after 4 years of being a fluff TV reporter. Staying in her childhood home she's full of nostalgia and seeing the old gang brings back a lot of good & bad times. Namely her former boyfriend and love Bobby who's a police detective and now married with a child. Spending time with her best friends Johnny, Janine, & Fran reconnecting and having fun. Unfortunately Johnny is killed on one of their outings. He had confided to Brandy about someone following him and helping in a police investigation. Gutted she starts piecing together what happened as she would one of her reporter spots. Her nosiness puts her in the cross hairs of her ex Bobby who may or may not be crooked cop and still may or may not have feelings for her. An attempt on her life has her reaching out for one of her aunts "fixers" named Nick who helps her gather information on the other side of the tracks. A mutual attraction teams them up for some murder and a little mayhem as Brandy fights to find who killed Johnny. Fun, gritty, & great who done it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series
