I know it's a bit of a long shot, but asking a bunch of fellow bookworms has to be the best way to go, right? :-) I have a severe chronic back pain problem, and wondered if any of you happen to have read any books about dealing with chronic pain and/or with back problems. Many thanks in advance if you can recommend any good ones! |

I would suggest any book that deals with pain and the mind. Authors include: Caroline Myss, Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Candace Pert, etc... |

Ah! Thank you so much, Raine, you've jogged my memory. I'd forgotten the name Caroline Myss entirely! I once had a video of her speaking... you're right, I should look for her work and for Louise L. Hay, had forgotten that name too. Thanks so much for jogging my memory! It's been a rusty thing lately. :-) |

I got this today, and it struck me as profound:
"Everything is as you perceive it to be. Period." |

If you are looking for a book on coping with chronic illness/pain in general (not how to get rid of pain) the book "Celebrate Life: New Attiudes for Living with Chronic Illness" is excellent. |

We are starting a new topic on this forum dealing with chronic pain. We thought it would be a great idea to have a place where people can go to ask questions, vent frustrations and generally support each other. It has been started by Sherry N. and is titled chronic pain. If you would like to get involved we would love to have you! |
