A soldier at the troop support site I belong to has asked for "medieval style era books with magic and such".  Any suggestions for titles or authors I should look for would be muchly appreciated.

Do you think he's looking for authors like Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind or am I completely off base?

Dragon and the George by Gordon R. Dickson
Through Wolf's Eyes by Jane Lindskold
The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon

Or send him Spellsinger by Alan Dean Foster and let him laugh a bit :-)

I liked Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood by Patty Briggs.   Humor, serious issues, and mud.

The folks on the fantasy thread probably have a better ideas.

Oh, crap... I posted this in the wrong forum?  My apologies.  As you can tell, I'm completely out of my element, I think!

Thank you for the suggestions!  I added them to my RL.
