The chapters are narrated alternately between Louise, who went through a divorce 2 years prior and opened a bed and breakfast in Maine, and her 16 year old daughter Isobella. Louise is busy running the B&B which is the site of a big Hollywood wedding and she is dealing with the wedding planner from hell. But that is really a side story. Isobella has met a local boy from a wealthy family who initially appears charming. But that quickly fades and he becomes controlling and manipulating and violent. We learn in the beginning that Louise was the victim of domestic abuse in a relationship before her marriage so as soon as the boyfriend becomes even a little controlling in the beginning of the book you can see where the story is headed. But this is a beach read and not a murder/suspense so although there is a nasty incident at the end, all ends well for the main characters. Overall, the book was ok.
