Lady Angeline has been sold as a bride to Lord Sangrey. As she is being escorted to Sangrey's castle she has to endure being sadomized, tortured and bodypiercings by the Darkraider. She is then kidnapped by Lord Ysuroth's men. They leave her at Shroudskull until Lord Ysuroth can come for her. Shadowclaw who is also the Summoner intents to keep her save for his Lord. He has been trained since birth to be a fighting machine. He can also change into a mystical beast. He only knows pain, never has experienced pleasure or love. Lady Angeline is trying to seduce him with gentleness and trying to teach him compassion. She will try anything to escape. Whenever Shadowclaw catches her he punishes her with sensual torture. This is a very dark story. There are scenes of domination, bondage and forced seduction and rape. The ending had a suprising twist.

I loved this book. Hero is dark, tortured, and mysterious. Heroine is abused, alone, and a captive. She finds comfort and refuge in him. I loved watching them come together, and I enjoyed the twists in the storyline. This book is a keeper for me.

It is definately an "erotic" book. The sex scenes were great but not much of a story line, too bad the cover didn't come out because that is the reason I bought the book in the first place :)
