Tuscany has fields overflowing with beautiful sunflowers in the summertime. But, for Signora Ferraro, the yellow flowers carry bitter memories. As a child she loved them, as an adult the sunflower fields remind her of a painful time during World War II in Italy.
Signora's daughter, Annabella, doesn't know of the painful past her mother has endured, and doesn't understand why her mother despised the sunflower fields that she loved so when she was a child and as grew into an adult.
