This is an intricate mystery involving both American and British characters during World War II and Maisie Dobbs' well-honed intuitions. One of the main characters is a black US serviceman, and I felt the racial angle of the story was overblown for that time period. Except for Maisie Dobbs' husband and Eleanor Roosevelt, the US officials in this story come off as jackasses. So, mixed feelings when I finished the story.
