Everyone has seen or heard of the Supernanny show. I did not realize that this book was geared toward toddlers. Recommended for children 4 and under. Good adviced. Has a magazine-like layout (lots of nice graphic pictures and tidbits of info).

I'm sure this book is wonderful for those with small children. My children are older, though, and it's not much help with school-age kids, it's definitely geared more towards those with toddlers ages 1-4 or so.

I love the Supernanny show, and was eager to read this book. It's a lovely book with lots of colorful pictures--almost a coffee table book. However, most of the material covered came straight from the show, so there weren't alot of new techniques. We are potty training right now, so I did pay close attention to that section. I still love Jo Frost and it was nice to have the reinforcement of her techniques down on paper. We are using many of them.

From the back of the book:

Jo Frost, also known as Supernanny, works miracles on unruly toddlers with her strategy of tough love, clear rules, and praise for good behavior. With over fifteen years of experience, Jo has seen it all - from meals where food ends up all over the floor and tantrums at bedtime, to just plain stressed-out parents. Her strategies include:

*Preventing fussy eaters from taking over mealtimes.
*Resolving your child's sleep problems, once and for all.
*Avoiding sibling rivalry battles.
*How to talk so your children will listen.
*How to enjoy parenting without its feeling like a chore.
*How to establish a routine that works for you.
*How to bridge the gap between you and your child.
*How to get themost from your children and yourself.

Jo's methods are simple and will work for everyone: a regular routine and defined boundaries and consistency, backed up with plenty of love and attention. So whether your two-year-old won't sleep through the night or your four-year-old is on the rampage, Jo knows exactly what to do, and will show you how to do it. If you're one of those stressed-out parents who's desperate for a more peaceful home, Supernanny will be the answer to your prayers.

Good book for 1st time mom's with children under 4 years old. I got it to help with my 4 year old and since he is my 2nd child it was not much help it was stuff I would have found helpful my 1st go round and since my son is well hard to handle I did not find it very helpful it talked more about general parenting rather then dealing with children that are harder to handle then most.

So 1st time mom's with children under 4 years old I would say good book. Anyone else I would have to say back talk 4 steps to ending rude behavior in your kids might be a better read.

I didn't actually finish this book, as I borrowed it from a friend in Korea and had to return it before I left. I liked what I read, though. She's very matter-of-fact, yet compassionate, just like on her show (which I love watching because it makes me feel like the world's best parent in comparison to the people she helps).

Jo Frost is the goddess of raising children. Practial, simple answers to almost every problem that arises. Step by step instructions that I wish would have been available when my children were little. I fumbled through raising my own kids, but am so grateful for Jo now that I keep my grandson son ten hours a day, five days a week. God bless you Jo.
