Far from being JUST a cookbook! When the NY Times reviewed it this book was described as "awesomely funny, wise, beautiful". The reviewer went on to say "to call (it) a cookbook would be like calling Moby Dick a Whaling Manual.
I read this book LONG ago and loved it-so much so that I took to looking for it whenever I visited a used book store. Found it this year (a 1970 Pocket Books edition) and after enjoying it just as much the second time around, decided this is definitely a book to be shared with others on PBS!
