Known for the Ripley series, which are my personal favories, and were turned into several movies. Her 1st novel, "Strangers on a Train" was filmed by the famous director Alfred Hitchcock, and is a classic. She also won the Edgar Allen Poe Scroll award for her 3rd novel, "The Talented Mr. Ripley", and that too was made into a movie feturing Matt Damon in the lead role.
