I know several here use swapacd as well as this site but I usually access when I'm at work and unfortunately we don't have Flash and can't get it here since it's a winterm...and swapacd is in Flash :-( I was wanting to read how it works. is the 'membership' free like it is here? also do you have to post cd's to join like here or can I just join and purhase credits to order cd's?

Membership is free at SwapaCD just like it is here. You will need to join the club separately from here, although you can transfer credits from your PBS account to use at SwapaCD.  The information for how to do this is in the Help Center at the site.  Once you post 10 cds you will receive one free credit.  You will need to put some money in your account to cover the .49  swapping fee.  Once you have a credit and at least .49 in your account you are good to go.  Go to the Swapacd.com site using the link at the bottom of any page here.  You can then access the Help Center which will give you lots of other info about the site, how it works, etc. I am not sure if you have to post the 10 cds in order to start requesting cds yourself like you have to post 9 here.  Can one of the members of both sites help us with that question?

I've been with SACD since May '06. I've received a lot of great CDs there, and thinned out those that I didn't listen to any more. I don't think you have to have 10 CDs posted to request CDs. You could just purchase credits in groups of three for $10.35 (or you could buy them cheaper here and transfer them over). Also, the minimum you can add to your SACD Money for requesting CDs is $5. Since the transaction fee to request a CD is .49, I  put in $5.39 at a time - that gives me exactly 11 CDs. The wishlist over there is unlimited, but it's different than PBS in that you have to rank the CDs in order of how important they are to you. I hope this answers some of your questions.

Can some of you computer savvy people address the question about the "Flash" issue?  Thanks!

I think it's only the "how it works" that requires flash. A lot of websites use Flash, so it might be worthwhile for you to download the plug-in for your browser (it's quick to do and free).

Welcome to SACD Susanna!

I think you can just join and buy credits & put money in your account for requesting CDs.
