Sweet Cabbage Haluska

1/4 lb butter
1 med head of cabbage
1 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1 sm onion
1-12oz pkg wide egg noodles

Chop or grate cabbage until fine. Sprinkle with salt and let
stand 10 min.
Squeeze out liquid and put cabbage into heavy skillet
(preferably cast iron) with butter, sugar, and onion. Cook over
low heat until lightly brown and tender. about 15-20 min. In the
mean time cook and drain noodles.  When cabbage is done cooking
toss with the hot noodles. Can add bacon to this recipe to
taste.
