This book like the others in the series is definitely not my favorite. Ms. Alers has definitely written a better series. The characters were okay but not really interesting enough to make one want to know what happens to them later. I will say that in this series the author does have a lot of interaction between the characters from the other books in the series.

This is a solid romance book by a very good author. Although I enjoyed the book I have a problem with romances in which the heroine hides a 10 year old child's existence from his father. In this story the heroine Zabrina was engaged to marry the love of her life Myles ten years earlier. When her father runs up debts his life is threatened unless Zabrina marries a much older politician. To save her father's life Zabrina marries the politician and dumps fiance Myles. Fast forward ten years and Zabrina is now a widow raising her ten year old son Adam, who is the biological son of her former fiance Myles. As Zabrina and Myles reconnect the secrets of the past are now exposed and the couple must decide whether to take another chance on love. For me, the book was good but not great. I absolutely dislike the idea of a woman hiding a child from it's father (for whatever reason).
