Chloe Cooper spends her days caring for her elderly mother, walking her mother's dog, and watching the new neighbors who recently moved into the house nextdoor. Dr. Adam & Jemma Spengler moved to Vancouver for a fresh start. Their home has huge windows which keep Chloe entertained as she watches the Spenglers from her bedroom window. One day as Chloe is walking her mother's dog on the beach, she sees Jemma Spengler going for her daily swim in the bay. Chloe is shocked when a jetski comes out of nowhere and intentionally strikes the swimmer. Chloe hurries back to her home before the police arrive, but she does call in an anonymous tip against her mother's advice. This tip leads to a chain of events that nobody saw coming.

This story is told in a True Crime Podcast hosted by Trinity Scott (Beneath Devil's Bridge), and through flashbacks to what was happening before the swimmer's murder. The story is full of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing. Just when I thought I had figured it out, the author would throw another twist into the story. I was never sure who to believe or even who to root for in this book. My rating: 4 Stars.
