Haven't used it much yet but I noticed here at PBS, if I spell a word wrong, it gets underlined in red.  Is this a PBS feature, or a Firefox feature, and.... can I turn it off?

Thanks!

I just tryed it & it didn't do that for me. Maybe it's a setting on Firefox? I'll update & try again.

You can turn it off.  With your browser open, click on "Tools" (across the top) and choose "Options".  Select "Advanced" and the "general" tab.  Uncheck "check my spelling as I type" and then the "okay" box at the bottom of that window.

I even get the spell check kickining on when I use our "PBS shorthand". I ignore that.

Firefox has a spellcheck built-in. You can turn it off, just as Sarah said. Personally, I really like it! :)

Thanks, Sarah!   Duh - I could have been smart and just looked under tools in the menu bar. <eyeball roll>

I think I need more caffeine....

Man, that would suck to have all me errors pointed out to me.  I don't know how I would respond to that if I hadn't yet had my coffee!   LOL

It is a Mozilla/Firefox thing.  I use Seamonkey, and have the same feature -- I really like it.

Cheers,

Catt

It's a fire fox thing. I have no idea how to turn it off but I LOVE it. I am a horrible speller since I am dyslexic. I use it all the time. Our desk top doesn't have firefox (my husband doesn't like) & I always annoyed when I use it since I can't check my spelling all the time. lol
