Historical/Paranormal erotic romance from Samhain Publishing. Brienna is the Queen of Avalbane, since the death of her father. While traveling in disguise to a neighboring ally, she is overtaken by Brogan and his men. But Brienna is determined to hold Lord Torrick's son to their marriage contract, or insist on it's dissolution. Neither Brienna nor Brogan tell the other of thier true identity. Can these two become allies before their mutual enemy destroys everything in his path? The sex scenes are nice and steamy. The story drags alot, and has been done better. The book is almost fair.

I waited with great anticipation to receive this book from Amazon. Once I received it, I torn open the packaging and immeditely started to read. I am a little sorry to say I was disappointed. While the sex scenes were plentiful, the characterizations were shallow and not well developed, and I found that I really didn't care what Brie and Brogan did or how their relationship deepened. I became so bored with the entire story I started skimming the pages in chapter 4 and didn't even read to the end.

I've read two other books by this author and always come away feeling the same way. Disappointed. This will definitely be the last of her books I read. Obviously, she just isn't for me.

A number of other members have this one on their wish list, so I will gladly pass it on. Perhaps someone else will enjoy it more than I did.
