I would highly recommend 'The Lost Life of Eva Braun' to anyone interested in WWII European history. The story of her life is very compelling. Once I got to the half way point of the book I couldn't put it down - it was like watching a train wreck! In this case reading about one! The author has thoroughly researched this book. And I mean thoroughly! The footnotes are not just references but very readable and sometimes take up 1/2 the page. Thank goodness they are in the body of the book and not in the back. There are many pictures but wish there were more. Overall it is a very sympathetic portrait of EB. I found the author was very even handed in her writing. Because EB was so intertwined with Hitler she delves into his history as well and it explains (though will NEVER excuse) why he was the way he was. May he burn in hell eternally. I'm sorry to say that in his relationship with EB he comes across a little sympathetic and I hated feeling that way toward him. This book is well worth reading.
