Good, not great book. The early 70's are favorite time for me in all major sports and the 71 Pirates are one of the most important teams in the era. The detail is there but the writing is suspect. I'm no editor but I did spot grammatical error and sentence issues in various chapters that detracted from the story. The author's insistence on using player's nicknames became tiresome as well, especially the obscure ones that I never heard before. Drop it in once but that's enough please. Still, the story is there without needing to be propped up by great writing and Pirate fans and those that love baseball in general will enjoy the book.
