This was NOT a very good book. The most positive thing I can say about it is that it was a very quick read. I'm not sure of the race of the author, but I found her characters to be very racially insulting. I realize how she was attempting to show how the main character overcame a lot, but in doing that she used far too many racial stereotypes. From drug abuse, welfare fraud, prositution, incest and just plain laziness this bookcovered all the bases. A very disappointing read.
