There were humorous moments...and, there were moments I thought would never end. The characters are engaging, but the heroine is tedious at times. The hero is indulgent of her, but is a very likable character. I thought we would never get to the end. Once I figured out how to solve their dilemma I was ready for them to figure it out, but it was not to be. The ending lasted too many pages. (I did a little skipping at this point.) Thank goodness all of the characters carry over from book to book so I can get closure of all of their stories. Recommend.

Meddling Juliana, a self-proclaimed matchmaker, finds herself in over her head when she finds herself falling for the man she's set her sights on for another! The story reminded me a great deal of Jane Austen's "Emma" in that Juliana's good intentions only complicate the lives of those she's vowed to help.
I adored James, The Earl of Stafford! He was such a dear hero! I loved how he used Juliana's meddlesome ways to further his own cause - her seduction!
I loved the way the author blended the many secondary characters and subplots without confusing the reader. One of the best historical romances I've read in quite awhile. This was my first book by Lauren Royal but definitely not my last!
