A lion, a dog, and a tiger are having a contest -- can they get ten apples piled up on top of their heads? You better believe it! This first counting book works as a teaching tool as well as a funny story. The author listed on the book is "Dr. Seuss writing as Theo. LeSieg," both of which are pseudonyms for Theodor Seuss Geisel.

My children loved this book! We would read it every day and still quote from it: "You can not stop our apple fun. Our apples will not drop. Not one!" Okay we are a strange family, but we have fun and this book is fun. Dr. Suess, excuse me, Theo. LeSieg had a genius for making poetry out of simple words, making his books easy to memorize and quote. Studies show children learn by repetition and memorization early in the reading process and I can recommend this book highly as a help for early readers.
