Does anyone know anything about Terry Prachett's books? What does he write about? |

What ever amuses him and he thinks will amuse the reader. He's skewered almost everything I can think of, from fantasy genre tropes to politics to stereotypes. And he makes it funny (most of the time). Is that enough for you? |

Most of Pratchett's books are set in a "mythical" world called Discworld; it's flat, held up by 4 elephants standing on the back of a turtle! You get the idea. Discworld has magic, is sort of in the Middle Ages, no science, technology etc, oh and no morals LOL. Death is a frequent character, but he's actually quite OK, only doing his job. Anyway, the genre counts as Sci Fi/Fantasy, but yes, is very satirical and yes very, very funny, but be warned, it is British humor. Try one, if you like it you'll like them all. Up till now my favorite is Guards! Guards, but before that my favorite was the previous one I read. Ha Cheers, Margaret |
