An okay romance novel. The plot is a little dry, but gets better the further in the story. Not very suspenseful, but a nice epic type story. This was the first romance I read and it was enough to keep me reading. :-) I liked it, I'd read it again.

When the warden told Cord Donaldson his lovely "Aunt" Floryn wanted to get him a parole, the rugged Texan didnt even smile. For nearly ten long years, hed rotted in a cell, thoughts of Floryns betrayal eating at his heart. It has torn him apart when shed chosen to stay in a passionless, business deal of a marriage with his uncle rather than run away with him. Now he didnt even want to see her face. Those wide golden eyes would be innocent and pleading, her sweet, red lips would promise and tempt, and her soft, yielding flesh would make him forget that he hated her down to her faithless soul!

Now that Floryn had finally found Cord, the beautiful young widow refused to return to the Fancy Lady ranch without him. Shed given him up once -- she couldnt do it again. And there was more than love at stake this time. For if Cord refused to help her, she would lose everything. She had to show him she still loved him, still needed him. And she knew how.
