Well, I wasn't sure I would enjoy this one when I started reading it but I found it to be a delight! I believe this is the first in Wodehouse's series of books about Jeeves and Bertie Wooster. It was great fun and I actually laughed out loud a few times. It was typical British humor from the 1930s and reminded me of some of the movie comedies from that era. I think Carey Grant would have been a great Bertie in a movie version. Actually, I saw on the internet that David Niven did play Wooster in a version of Jeeves; however, the storyline was changed completely from the book - much to Wodehouse's disapproval. The book did contain some racial stereotyping and actually included the "N" word but not in a bad way. This was also typical of the era. Overall, I would give this one a high recommendation - I'll need to find more of the Jeeves novels.

Apparently this is the first full-length novel about Wooster and Jeeves. This is my first Wodehouse book and I found it very entertaining, but I would like to go back and read the original short stories found in "Carry On, Jeeves" and others. I have a feeling many of the situations mentioned in this book occur in the other stories. Looking forward to reading more.
