Notice of the manner in which Dr. Bloomfield has suppressed Mr. Alford's name in his Volume of Additional Annotations. In Dr. Bloomfield's " Additional Annotations, Critical, Philolo- A gical, and Explanatory, on the Greek Testament," we find not unfrequent mention of " a recent Commentator," to whom he is under considerable obligations, but who is never once mentioned by name, either in the Notes themselves, or in the list of exege- tical works appended at the end of this subsidiary volume. It is not my intention to express at present any opinion upon the comparative merits or demerits of the two editors; but I do feel bound to enter a protest against a suppression as unusual, I hope, as it is certainly unfair. I have noticed the several passages of St. Matthew, in which Mr. Alford is designated as a B recent Commentator. In chap. v. 21 -- Dr. B. Mr. A.
