This book s a great adventure/mystery book! perfect for ages 9,10 and 11. You will become hooked about the story of Kit Kittridge, a girl growing up in the great depression. 10 year old kit is a reporter, and she decides to do a report on the local theatre. The people who work and own the theatre let kit stay around to work on her report under one circumstance: she must help out around the theatre. But suddenly, a large amount of money that was just earned at the theatre disappears! Some people think it has been stolen.Mr. Bell, a witness, claims to have seen a tall man running away from the theatre just after the robbery. Everyone knows that it must have been someone who works at the theatre, because no one else knows where the key to the money box is kept. . . but the only tall person employed at the theatre at the time is a famous actress named Daphne, and she's not a man!! Will kit be able to solve the mystery. . . or will the theatre go out of business for good? Buy this fantastic book to find out!!

Another outstanding book by one of the best writers of the History Mystery Books published by American Girl (AG). Great to read further adventures about Kit Kittredge, the AG who grew up during the great depression. Also always enjoy a good mystery. Is being read now by my 25 year old daughter, who will then read it to my 5 year old granddaughter --this book appeals to 3 generations! Wish my parents were alive to have read it... This mystery is for any age and is a 10+++++++.
