Just so you know, the books in this series should be read in order, as they build upon each other. This is a continuation of book eight, PERIL BY POST. Mr. Hetherington, from the previous book, has escaped prison and is dead set on revenge for his wife's death. He has Julia captured, using her as bait to get John Pickett. John, realizing that he cannot do this on his own, gets his brother-in-law, Jamie Pennington, to help. The author utilizes each man's gifts to try to thwart Mr. Hetherington. This is a quick read because I couldn't put the book down.
