A biography of the life of author, Dee Hakala. Raised by a loving mother, but suffering the emotional turmoil of living with an alcoholic, abusive father, she ran away from home at age 16. Only five foot tall, at her lowest she weighed over 300 pounds. About how she came over personal adversity and lost the weight. Winner of Nike's inaugural Fitness Innovation Award. Now the "New Face of Fitness' programs are operating across the country. Her description of the program is that it will get you off the couch and inspire you to happiness and energize to start moving without expensive equipment of gym equipment.
