Wonderful read, written beautifully. I orgianlly ordered this as my father died of cancer and i was angry. This book was such a help for me. This family was very close in heart although
very disfunctional, making them almost seem nornmal in a wonderful way. So much they got out of life, and Ms. Montgomery has shared hope and happiness and lots of mind matter to think about in this novel when one has finished reading it. I really enjoyed it. It was well worth the time i devoured it in, i wish it would of lasted longer.

This was a great book. I read it in one day. Wonderful memoir about family dysfunction that is told with humor and warmth.

Very touching book. Well written, raw, heartfelt, intelligent. What impressed me most about it was the authors ability to tell a story of a less than functional family but with a respectful and quirky matter of factness as opposed to a whiney "poor me" tone. Her relationship with her father was complicated and beautiful. I liked this book way more than I thought that I would.
