Thomas Lakeman (born March 10, 1964) is the author of three mystery novels published by St. Martin's Minotaur. These include The Shadow Catchers (2006), Chillwater Cove (2007) and Broken Wing (2009).

Lakeman's novels are a continuing series revolving around a pair of FBI special agents, Mike Yeager and Peggy Weaver. The Shadow Catchers takes Yeager to the Nevada desert on the trail of a serial killer. His second novel, Chillwater Cove, revolves around Agent Weaver's search for a missing childhood friend in her Tennessee home town. Broken Wing returns to Yeager as protagonist, focusing on his undercover assignment with the Mafia in post-Katrina New Orleans. The books have received critical praise from such publications as the Boston Globe, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Washington Post.

Lakeman wrote the screenplay for the independent feature Triptych, produced by Tea Tree Films, as well as numerous stage plays for production by the Playhouse in the Park in Mobile, Alabama.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Lakeman earned his B.A. in English and Theatre from The University of the South and his M.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. In 1986 he was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship for independent study abroad. During the 1990s he worked in the marketing department of Universal Pictures and was a founding partner of Digital Planet, a southern California Web design company later acquired by iXL, Inc. During his tenure as Digital Planet's creative director he was responsible for many of the Web's first movie promotional sites, including Web campaigns for Twelve Monkeys and Apollo 13 . He was also writer and co-creator of the animated Web series Madeleine's Mind.. He was the 2009 Tennessee Williams Playwright-in-Residence at the University of the South.
