Dara O Briain, the stand-up comic and host of Mock the Week, takes the reader along on his tour of Britain. Along the way, he talks about what makes a good venue for stand-up, how he crafts his shows, and what makes audiences enjoy his show (or not). As well as talking about the day-to-day of touring, he discusses national stereotypes, the English character, happiness, immigration, and more. He is clearly a man fascinated by people, and those he meets along the way provide entertaining stories.
Overall, an entertaining and surprisingly informative read.
